Louise E. McManus, 105, of Springfield passed away Monday, May 11, 2009. She was born April 5, 1904 in Nebraska to James and Hattie Tolin Eoff. She moved to Branson, Missouri from Kansas City, Missouri at the age of thirteen. She is a graduate of School of the Ozarks. She lived most of her adult life in Forsyth, Missouri and has resided in Springfield, Missouri for the past thirty years. She retired from the State of Missouri Division of Family Services in 1965 with over thirty years of service. She was a member of Forsyth Presbyterian Church, D.A.R., Rachel Donaldson Chapter and Order of Eastern Star, Forsyth Chapter. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert B. McManus and her son Robert Bailey McManus, III. She is survived by two daughters Bette Jo (Wilbur) Feagan and Mary Margaret Allen, and daughter-in-law Beth McManus, all of Springfield, five grandchildren Michael (Kay) Chase, Williamsburg, VA, Patrick (Becky) Chase, Carbondale, CO, Karen (Ron) Cook, Lake St. Louis, MO, Kathy Sechler, Springfield, MO, and Mark (Melissa) Sechler, Springfield, MO eleven great-grandchildren Kelly (Carolyn) Chase, Curtis Chase, Tara Sullivan, Stacy (Josh) Nipstad, Ryan (Rosie) Plymate, Sarah Plymate, Stan Sechler, Jake Sechler, Daniel Sechler, Joe Sechler, Sophia Sechler and three great-great grandchildren. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel with Reverend Kenneth Chumbley officiating. Private burial will be held Thursday, May 14, 2009 in Snapp Cemetery in Forsyth, Missouri. The family would like to express special appreciation for the devoted and loving care of the staff at Manor Care to Louise for the past seven years.
