IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lou
Prieto
July 31, 1956 – December 29, 2025
Luis (Lou) Suares Prieto, Jr., age 69, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025, at 2:55 p.m. in Springfield, Missouri, surrounded by his three daughters.
He was born on July 31, 1956, to Luis Suares Prieto, Sr. and Gloria Juanita Madrid. He was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, son, and friend, and his life was marked by genuine kindness and a deep love for others. Anyone who met him quickly learned that he was the kind of person you could count on who was steady and sincere.
Music was one of Lou's greatest gifts. A dedicated musician, he loved using his talent to praise God and serve others. Over the years, he faithfully served on worship teams wherever life took him, most recently he served as a member of the worship team at One Life Church, where he had been active for the past couple of years. His guitar playing was more than music, it was his ministry, and it touched the hearts of all who were blessed to hear him play.
Lou is survived by his daughters, Jessica of Springfield, Missouri, and Michelle and Stacey of Colorado Springs, Colorado. He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren Taylor, Joshua, Kayla, and Ryan of Colorado Springs, and Quinton and Kylie of Springfield, as well as his cherished great-grandchildren Jaxson, River, and Skylar of Colorado Springs. He is also survived by his brothers Elwood of Bakersfield, California, and Len of Fresno, California, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his brother Steve and sister Loretta.
Lou was loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. While he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing that he is now with the Lord, in eternal peace.
