Lorna J. Holopter passed to her eternal rest peacefully, surrounded by family Sunday, August 19, 2018 after a long illness.  She was born in Pennsylvania to H.D. Maginley, M.D. and her mother Jessie.  After graduating from high school, Lorna received her RN degree from Harrisburg General Hospital.   She worked part-time at St. John's and for The Red Cross after her children graduated from Glendale High School.  Her colleagues and patients valued her expertise in patient care.  She was a longtime member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, after moving to Missouri in 1966.

She is survived by her loving husband, Bruce; daughter, Joan and her husband Scott of California; son, Jim and his wife Cindy of Shawnee, Kansas; grandchildren, Megan, Ryan and Rebecca; and sister, Roberta of Philadelphia.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John; and sister, Miriam.

Lorna enjoyed traveling, reading, gardening and dancing.

A celebration of life memorial will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2441 S. Lone Pine Ave, Springfield, MO 65804.
