Lorene "Renie" Vander Linden, 88, passed away from natural causes at her home on April 4, 2015. Born January 30, 1927 in Pershing, Iowa, she lived in Attica, Burlington and Des Moines, Iowa; Salt Lake City; St Louis; Alexandria, LA; Bangor, ME; Tulsa; Jefferson City and Springfield, MO. She was a graduate of Capitol City Commercial College in Des Moines and worked in bookkeeping for JC Penney, Equitable USA, The Vander Linden Insurance Agency, the City of Windsor Heights and the State of Iowa. She was also a secretary at Schweitzer United Methodist in Springfield and office manager for Larry Burrows and Associates. Lorene was a long time member of Schweitzer United Methodist Church, where she was active with the Home Builders Sunday School Class, LETS and God's Lunch Bunch. An avid traveler, she toured throughout the USA and Canada, and visited countries in Europe and North Africa, as well as Israel, Australia and New Zealand. Survivors include son Eric of Lee's Summit and brother Bob of Des Moines. Lorene was preceded in death by her husband Don and son Robert Amos. Services will be held at 1:30 PM on Tuesday April 14, 2015 at Schweitzer United Methodist Church, 2747 E. Sunshine St. Springfield, MO 65804. Interment will follow at 3:00 PM at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery. Relatives and friends are welcome at the Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 East Seminole in Springfield from 6-8 PM on Monday, April 13, 2015. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are welcome at Schweitzer United Methodist Church.
