IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lois
Ruzicka
November 11, 1924 – July 12, 2018
Lois Dale Ruzicka passed away on July 12, 2018 at the age of 93. Lois was born November 11, 1924 to William and Virginia Driskill in Flagler, CO. She married the love of her life, Ernest F. Ruzicka, on September 30, 1950 at Immaculate Conception Church in Kansas City, MO.
Lois always put her faith and family first, while still finding time for many hobbies, including crocheting and cooking, but she loved spending time tending to her flowers and garden that her husband Ernest would put in every year. If she didn't can the vegetables, they would generously give the extra away or donate the vegetables to The Kitchen.
She loved to cook and try out new recipes on the family. She worked tirelessly every Easter to provide a celebration for the Ruzicka clan, including making crescent rolls, mouth-watering brisket, poppy seed bread and delicious cinnamon rolls.
She was very active in her church at St. Agnes. She volunteered at Crosslines, St. Vincent de Paul and helped put the weekly church bulletins together on Friday mornings. She and Ernest were also involved in Seniors Unlimited and Prayer Buddies at St. Agnes.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers: William Curran, Howard Mac (Nadine), and Starl Dwight "SD" (Ardis), and one sister: Irma Theodora.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Ernest, sister Cleta Rush of El Dorado, KS, son Bill (Sandy) of Kansas City, daughters: Marsha Cockrum of Kansas City, Cheryl (Ed) Dishman of Republic, and Sandy (Dennis) Harter of Bois D'Arc, grandchildren: Brian Harter, Sara Ruzicka, Jeffrey Harter, William Ruzicka, Jr., Jennifer Walker, Michael Cockrum, and Tasha Cockrum, great grandchildren: Lane, Emmett, and Eva, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, with a Rosary at 7:30 PM, on Monday, July 16, 2018 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 17, at St. Agnes Cathedral, 533 S. Jefferson, Springfield, MO. Burial will follow at Karlin Cemetery (formerly St. Wenceslaus) in Bolivar, MO.
