Lois W. Ponder, age 84, passed away in her home on January 20, 2011. She was born November 16, 1926 in Mt. Vernon, Ill., to Robert and Naomi Cameron. She was married to Gene T. Ponder on December 22, 1960. Lois was a resident of Elsberry, Mo. for many years and worked in St. Louis for a plumbing supply company until her retirement. Preceding her in death were her husband, Gene T. Ponder; her brother, Robert Cameron; and her sisters, Dena Daniels and Jeanne Hargrave. Survivors are her nephews and nieces, Bob and Joyce Cameron, Nixa, Mo., Jacklyn Adams, Albuquerque, N.M., Dan and Judy Cameron, Maud, Texas, Joe Cameron, Joplin, Mo., Scott Cameron, San Antonio, Texas, and Mike and Charley Purler, Wentzville, Mo. A special thanks goes to her friend and caregiver Evelyn Groom, all of the staff at the Dialysis Center in Nixa and St. John's Hospice. Graveside services are under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, Springfield Mo., and Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, Elsberry, Mo.
