Lloyd Franklin Meacheam,92, of Battlefield, Missouri passed away Sunday, April 5, 2026 surrounded by those he loved most. He was a beloved and cherished father, grandfather, uncle, and friend whose presence and character will be deeply missed.
Lloyd was the baby of his family, born to Leonard and Bertha (Little) Meacheam in Clever, Missouri on January 29, 1934.
On January 24, 1954 Lloyd married Wanda Lee Meacheam. Lloyd and Wanda shared in 68 years of marriage, and 72 years of adventure and laughter. Together, Lloyd and Wanda had two children, Kim Marler and Danny Meacheam with wife, Mary Meacheam.
Lloyd had 4 grandchildren who he cared for deeply and steadfastly: Megan Scott, Colette Patton and husband Brandon Patton, Alexis Meacheam, and Hunter Meacheam.
He also enjoyed his 4 great-grandchildren: Harper and Holly Patton, and Archer and Finley Scott. Lloyd is survived by his sister-in-law Betty Sue Meacheam, brother-in-law Jerry Max Stigall, and sister-in-law Janice Peebles. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by parents Leonard and Bertha Meacheam, his wife Wanda Meacheam, brothers James Meacheam, Bill Meacheam and sister Ruth Moore.
Lloyd was born and raised in Clever, Missouri where he worked hard on the family farm and later met Wanda Meacheam, who captivated his heart and unwavering love and affection. They began dating as sophomores in High School and devoted their lives to one another, their family, and their community. Once Lloyd and Wanda married, Lloyd joined the Navy and they both moved to San Francisco where they lived for 2 years before returning to Springfield, Missouri. In 1961, Lloyd joined State Farm Insurance and opened his own agency in Springfield. He was known for his humor, practicality, and reputable business ethic. Lloyd was a savvy businessman who instilled his knack for enterprise, gumption, and initiative in his children and those he cared for. He was a respected member in his community known for his loyalty, quick wit, and his uniquely infectious laugh.
Lloyd possessed an ardent passion and devotion for his faith. He began his pursuit of faith with his parents at Clever United Methodist Church. When he moved back home, he became a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He later became a member of Schweitzer United Methodist Church, Hood United Methodist Church, and found home in Aurora United Methodist Church.
He enjoyed bible study and church on Sunday mornings at the Township where he resided. He enjoyed many hobbies and activities in his community. He was a member of Twin Oaks Country Club where his competitive spirit took stage while he played golf several times a week. With Wanda alongside, Lloyd was well traveled and enjoyed experiencing what life had to offer he and his family. Lloyd and Wanda traveled most of the United States, Canada, Europe, and Australia.
Lloyd was known and loved for many things, but he will be remembered most for the enduring love, companionship, integrity, and unwavering commitment to his wife, family, and his friends.

Visitation will be Friday, April 10, 2026 at 2:00 pm with the funeral service following at 2:30 pm at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home located at 1947 E Seminole St in Springfield.
