Lloyd Gean Dishman was born to Ross and Doll Dishman is Strafford, Missouri on April 8, 1934. The family lived just north of Strafford for several years and in 1940 moved to Mtn. Grove, Mo where they lived for many years operating a meat processing business. Lloyd graduated from Mtn. Grove High School in 1953. He entered military service in 1956 and was honorably discharged in November 1958. After returning from the service, he worked for several furniture stores in the area. He began work for Hiland Dairy in the early 60's as a route salesman in Mtn. Grove. He left Hiland in 1969 and moved to Springfield where he started a 27 year Career with the City of Springfield Public Works department. He retired in 1997. Lloyd was devoted to his parents and they lived with him until their deaths. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Doll Dishman; brothers Ross Dishman Jr., Harvey Dishman, and his twin Floyd Dishman. He is survived by sisters-in-law Janice Dishman and Jean Dishman; nephews Don Dishman and Greg Dishman; great nephews Scott Dishman and Brad Dishman; and a cousin, Margaret Ann Hickman. Visitation will be Thursday, June 4 from 6-7 pm at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held at Dishman Cemetery in Strafford, Mo on Friday, June 5 at 11 am.
