Lloyd Edwin Anderson left this world for a more beautiful one on March 14, 2009 at Cox South Hospital. He was born in Keokuk, Iowa to Charles and Freda Anderson. He attended Keokuk High School, after which he served in the Army during the waning years of WW II. He attended Culver-Stockton College, where he was active in football, instrumental and vocal music, and Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He met and married Judy Burrows, and they enjoyed 59 wonderful years. After college he was employed by Hoerner Boxes Inc., and remained with that company, as the company went through mergers and name changes, throughout his career. He retired from the local facility Stone Container Inc., as General Manager, in 1988. After retirement he played golf avidly, and he and Judy drove throughout the US in their RV, wintering many years in Arizona, and making dear friends. He was a devout member of First and Calvary Presbyterian Church, devoting many hours to the Chancel Choir, and helping in other areas of church life as needed. He was a member of Mid-America Singers, Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, and president of Missouri Senior Golf Association and a blood donor. He was also a former member of Twin Oaks Country Club and Southeast Rotary Club. He is survived by his devoted wife, Judy; two sons, David and wife, Kathy of Lincoln, Neb., and Douglas of Rogers, Ark; grandsons, Matthew and Michael Anderson, and step-granddaughter, Jennifer Martinez; his sister, Shirley Miller of St. Louis; sister-in-law, Ann Schleiffarth of Kimberling City; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial services will be Thursday, March 19, 2009 at 1:00 PM at First and Calvary Presbyterian Church with Dr. Greg Seckman, officiating under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
