Linda Faye Underwood, age 66, passed away Tuesday evening, August 24, 2010, in Cox South Hospital. She was born on October 17, 1943, to Isaiah and Minnie (Hawkins) Garrett. She married the love of her life, Norman Underwood, on December 25, 1963. This union was blessed with four children. From a very young age, Linda enjoyed playing piano and singing in Mentor Baptist Church, Rogersville, Misouri, where she was saved. She later attended First Baptist Church of Rogersville with her husband and children. Linda had a smile in all circumstances and a positive attitude in every situation. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Her husband Norman and parents preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, Kenny Underwood and wife Ann, Lila Underwood and wife Sherry Wilson, John Underwood and wife Jodell, Belinda Tedford and husband Kenny; brothers, John and Jim Garrett; sister, Lila Ewing; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and many other friends which she considered family. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 28, 2010 under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Burial will be in Greenlawn North Cemetery with Norman. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Before and After Transplant Support Group c/o Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
