She taught junior high students in Kearney, NE (earning the state Home Economics Teacher of the Year Award in 1984) and high school students at Hillcrest and Kickapoo high schools in Springfield, MO, teaching a total of 25 years. She was also employed part-time as an academic advisor at Ozarks Technical Community College. Having lived in Maryville, MO, Oskaloosa and Creston, IA, then Kansas City, MO, on to Grand Island and Kearney, NE, then Springfield, MO, Linda liked many things about every place she lived and always found that wonderful friends made life much richer in each location. Survivors are her husband Robert V. Reynolds (Bob), her mother Corky Reaksecker of Quail Creek, 3 daughters: Janene Sheldon and husband Bill and children Will, Calvin and Charley Tess of Lincoln, NE; Jami Anderson and children Abby of Omaha, NE and Jordyn of Broken Bow, NE; Jill Bailey and husband Nathan and children Parker and Regan of Springfield, MO; 2 stepdaughters: Jill Griesbaum and husband Chris of Mt. There are also surviving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews to whom she was very close. Linda was preceded in death by her father, Lester Reaksecker and by grandson Tyler Anderson. Linda was an active member of several community and professional organizations (leading a Red Cross youth organization in Nebraska, member of Delta Kappa Gamma, women's educational honorary, Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority, NEA, ACTE and national certification as a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher). She was a life-long United Methodist with current membership at Schweitzer, having served on about every committee and having taught children, youth and adult classes. She had a lifetime achievement award from United Methodist Women from Avondale United Methodist Church in Kansas City, MO. Linda requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to local church preschools, college scholarships, or organizations that assist children/youth in need. She expressed the desire that all should feel the love she has been shown by her family, friends and colleagues. "Love as I have loved you!" says the Lord, was her favorite scripture. A celebration of life service will be held Monday, June 22, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at Schweitzer United Methodist Church with her ashes to be interred at Springfield National Cemetery.
