IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Linda Lee
Bolander
September 4, 1944 – December 21, 2023
Linda Lee (Williamson) Bolander, born on September 4, 1944, in Springfield, Missouri, peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones on December 21, 2023, in Springfield, Missouri. Linda spent her life devoted to her family, Christ, and career, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched.
Linda's journey began in Springfield, Missouri, where she spent her formative years before pursuing higher education at Parsons Kansas Junior College. During her time at Parsons Junior College, Linda met Robert Bolander, with whom she forged a lifelong connection. They later resided in Fort Worth for two years before making Springfield their home in 1966. On December 29, 1964, Linda and Robert joined in matrimony at WAMI Methodist Church in Parsons, Kansas, marking the beginning of an incredible 60-year bond characterized by enduring love and commitment.
Professionally, Linda's dedication and compassion were evident in her illustrious 43-year career as a Nurse's Assistant at Cox Hospital. Commencing her career at Lester E. Cox Hospital, Linda's exceptional contributions within the Same Day Surgery unit garnered immediate recognition. Her proficiency and commitment were so remarkable that when Cox South Hospital, a larger facility, was inaugurated, Linda was promptly transferred from the north to serve in this expanded healthcare setting. Upon her retirement, Linda's departure created a void that necessitated the employment of multiple aides to collectively fill the exceptional role she had fulfilled.
Outside her professional life, Linda's devotion to family was unparalleled. Her son, Edmond "Louis" Bolander, born on December 30, 1965, and her daughter, Malissa Hauswirth, born on June 18, 1970, were testaments to her love and care. Linda was an unwavering pillar of support for her family, notably adoring her grandson's baseball games, granddaughter's piano recitals and trips to visit great grandchildren & granddaughter.
Her love for music, particularly the tunes of Dolly Parton and Elvis Presley, her cherished Bible studies, and leisurely coffee moments with her neighbor about the Cardinals, especially sharing her fondness for Yadi.
Linda had a childlike love for Christ that radiated in every aspect of her life. Her unwavering faith was the cornerstone of her compassion and kindness towards others. Linda touched countless lives with her warmth, lack of judgment, and unwavering care. Her legacy is one of selflessness, love, and kindness. Her absence will be deeply felt by family, friends, and colleagues.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Charles, sister Mitzi and stepsister, Martha Duncan.
Linda is survived by her husband, children, grandson Luke Hauswirth, granddaughter Kalea Bolander, granddaughter Lindsay Reeter and sons, granddaughter Hailey Elliott and sons, stepsister Phyllis Pitzer and stepbrother Don Holsinger.
A memorial service to honor Linda's life will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Fremont Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
In the words Linda cherished, "Jesus loves you, and I love you." Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her in return.
