Linda Louise Akins, 78 of Springfield, Missouri passed away at 4:00 am on Saturday, August 13, 2022 in Republic, Missouri.

She was born on April 5, 1944 in Springfield to Leonard and Lucille Hoaglin.

Linda worked for State Farm Insurance Company for 20 years and then in retail after that.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Springfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roger D. Akins on June 18, 2022 and her sister, Joyce K. (Hoaglin) Bernet.

Linda is survived by her children, Michele (Gilmore) Wilson and husband, Todd of Abilene, TX, Curtis Gilmore and wife, Leona of Ash Grove, MO, Chris Akins and wife, Twila of Springfield, and Courtney (Akins) Fannin and husband, Karl of Republic, MO; grandchildren, Chase Gilmore, Mackenzie Wilson, and Landon Wilson and wife, Katie; sister, Denise Kirby and husband, Waine; brother-in-law, Jerry Bernet and many other friends and family.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 17, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home.  Memorial services will be Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Hazelwood Cemetery.
