Linda Kay Abney, 90, of Springfield, passed away September 23, 2025 after living in The Manor at Elfindale.

She was born February 22, 1935 to Russell and Bee Nicholson, who farmed in Ash Grove, MO. Linda went to Drury College, graduating in 1957 with a Home Economics degree. There she met William J. Abney, and they married in 1958. Their daughter Anne was born in 1960.

Linda had two passions she shared with her friends, playing golf and playing bridge. She also watched Mizzou Sports and the Dallas Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs games.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Bill Abney; daughter, Anne Grant (Kelly); nieces Debbie Parrish, Valerie Fry and Melody Huffman and nephew Randy Fry.

Linda was buried during a private family celebration at Clear Creek Cemetery. Feel free to make a donation to any charity.
