IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lillian Inara
Twitty
May 22, 1932 – April 4, 2018
Lillian Twitty, 85, of Springfield, Mo. passed away April 4, 2018.
Lillian was born to Arnold and Marta Fricson on May 22th 1932 in Ventspils Latvia. In 1940, Lillian's father sent her and her mother to Regensburg Germany to avoid the impending Russian invasion of Latvia. Lillian never saw her father again, as he was captured and taken prisoner by the Russians. Surviving the ravages of WWII, Lillian became a translator for the Chaplin at the American Army Base in Hohenfels, Germany, where she met the love of her life, Omer Twitty.
Lillian and Omer married on May 6, 1955 in Regensburg Germany. Together they created a beautiful family with their children Patty and Bob. Upon retiring from the Army, the family moved to Monett, Missouri, where Lillian and Omer raised their children. As a family, they enjoyed traveling, playing cards, bowling, their many dear friends in Monett, and especially their affiliation with the Monett First Christian Church.
Lillian very much enjoyed the last 7 years of her life while residing at the Montclair Senior Living Community in Springfield, Missouri.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband Omer in 2008, parents Arnold and Marta Fricson and her brother-in-law, Calvin Smith. She leaves behind her son, Bob Twitty, and her daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Tim Swan, all of Springfield MO. She also leaves her five grandchildren and their families: Meagan and Scott Hardwicke and their son Bennett (Springfield, MO), Matt Swan and his fiancé Daley Gold (Nashville, TN), McKenzie Swan (Kansas City, MO), Marie Swan (Ann Arbor, MI), and Rae and Nick Snobl and their son Henry (Springfield, MO). Lillian is survived by her sister-in-law Belva Smith (Neosho, MO), and a niece and two nephews and their families. All will miss Lillian greatly.
