Levi Johnson went to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 26, 2011 after a long illness. He was born June 11, 1950 to Edward Walker and Genevieve Johnson. He was employed with the Conservation Department and Frisco Railroad. He was a graduate of Central High School. He loves sports including basketball, football, baseball, track, golf and karate. He coached boys basketball, football and women's softball. He also was a karate instructor. He was a fan of Bruce Lee Movies and he loved music. He enjoyed talking on the phone daily to family and friends. He accepted Christ at an early age. Levi was preceded in death by his father, paternal and maternal grandparents, one grandchild, Joseph, and one sister, Patricia. He leaves to cherishes his memory his devoted mother, Genevieve Johnson, of Springfield, MO; one daughter, Taisha Johnson of St. Louis MO; four sons, Terence Johnson, Springfield MO; Lamont Johnson of Dallas TX; Anthony Giles of Chicago IL; and Aaron Giles of Oklahoma City,OK; two grandchildren and a special friend, Terry Doolittle of Inglewood, CA; four brothers, Joe Rivers, Charles Johnson, Sylvester Johnson and Lyman Johnson all of Springfield, MO; three sisters, Eva, Sazone, Edna Johnson, and Loueeka Johnson, all of Springfield, MO; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Tuesday, November 1, 2011 in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM Monday, October 31, 2011 in the funeral home.
