LeRoy Eugene Mitchell, 70, Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 in Cox Hospital. He was born October 31, 1942 to Warren and Delta Mitchell in Lockwood, MO. LeRoy accepted Christ at an early age. He graduated in 1960 from Hillcrest High School. LeRoy was in the Air Force for 8 years and served in Vietnam. He loved to play golf and was an avid woodworker. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Mike Mitchell; and sister, Susie Goodale. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Mitchell; sons, Kevin and wife Dede, Scott and wife Vicky, and Eric Mitchell; daughter, Christine Perkins and husband Tony; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Matt (Sarah) Mitchell, Derrick Mitchell, Jenna Mitchell, Jill (Micah) Aubuchon, Taylor Mitchell, Justin Mitchell, Brooke Perkins, Lindsay Perkins, Kinslee Mitchell, Meleah Mitchell, Adelaide Aubuchon, two sisters Becky and Norma; stepmother, Lucille Mitchell, Kankakee, IL; four half brothers; and several nieces, nephews and other family members. Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 9:00am on Friday, September 20, 2013 in Missouri Veterans Cemetery with Brother Fred Bobe officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
