Obituary

Leona May "Peggy" (Eaton) Dickens, 85 of Springfield, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 in Mercy Hospital, Springfield. She was born on July 8, 1927 in Springfield to Benjamin and Leona Casey Eaton. Peggy graduated from Springfield Senior High School, known now as Central High School in 1945. She married Warren Dickens in December, 1946. Warren preceded her in death on May 5, 2013. Peggy worked at the Frisco Railroad for 38 years as a records office clerk. She was a long time member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, and had recently affiliated with Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church. She was also a member of Twin Oaks Country Club. Peggy is survived by a sister in law, Geraldine Tyler (Ron) of Colusa, CA; a sister in law Carol Ann Dickens; several nieces and nephews; and good friends Joe Byrnes and Frank Flowers and their families. Visitation will be Friday, June 28, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, with funeral services to follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
