Leon Kent Bryant, Sr., age 84, passed away at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Desoto Healthcare, Southaven, MS. He was born August 1, 1929 in Miller, MO, the son of Don and Nina Bryant. He is a graduate of Miller High School, Miller, MO, 1946. Leon was retired from Federal Aviation Agency, Memphis, TN. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Norma; and sister, Marcella Carter. Leon is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Diane Paine and her husband, Jack, Medina, TN; son, Leon Kent Bryant, Jr. and his wife, Barbara, Broken Arrow, OK; sister, Carolyn Williams, Miller, MO; brother, Lynn Bryant, Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Chris, Ben, and Daniel Bryant, all of OK, Jena Paine, Carmel, CA and Rusty Paine, Jackson, TN; and great-grandchild, Jordynn Paine, Jackson, TN. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2014 in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The family suggests that memorials be made to a local animal shelter of choice.
