Lemond "Shaye" Sorey, entered into eternal peace Friday, February 20th, 2015 in St. Louis, MO. Born September 8, 1977 in Springfield, MO, he will be missed by many family and friends. A beloved son and brother, he was survived by his mother JoMia Root, father Gary Sorey, step-father Bill Root; and sisters Lanae and Sloan Sorey all of Springfield, MO. As a grandson he was also survived by two grandparents; Lemond H. Jenkins and Barbara Sorey also of Springfield, MO. He was preceded in death by his "Mema" Joan Jenkins, Grandfather Max Sorey, and Aunt Ranee Jenkins and his one true love Jennifer Albee. As a young boy, Shaye lit up a room with his boyish grin, sweet disposition and Mema's brown eyes. As he grew older he struggled with mental illness and its many hills and valleys. Through it all, his deep love for family never wavered. He had a love for music and found solace in lyrics when facing life's challenges. He will be remembered for his loving heart and the imprint he left upon all of ours. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home at 1947 E. Seminole St., Springfield, MO. Funeral is Thursday, February 26 at 1 p.m. He will be laid to rest at Hazelwood Cemetery.
