Lawrence W. Scheid, age 87, of Springfield, MO passed away at 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2017 in his home.

He was born December 17, 1929 in St. Louis, MO the son of Frederick William and Margaret Mary Scheid.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.  Lawrence worked for Frisco/Burlington Northern Railroad for over 40 years.  He was an avid reader and history enthusiast.  Lawrence also enjoyed his many gardens created over the years.  He was a dedicated father, grandfather, great-grandfather and loving husband.

Lawrence is survived by his wife, Marlene of 67 years.  He is also survived by his three sons, Larry Scheid, Brant Scheid and Glennon Scheid and wife Sherrie and their son Michael. Surviving him is his oldest daughter Laura Newman and husband Kurt and their children; Shaun and Varuni Hilton, their daughter Oona; Danny Hilton and his daughter Kinsley; Stephanie and James Cunningham; their children Katy, Bridget, Nathan and Courtney; Kallei and Logan High and their expected daughter, Lawrence's great-granddaughter, Klaira.  Also surviving are his youngest daughter Jennifer Taylor and husband Tony and their children: Nicholas Taylor; Brandon Taylor and wife Rebekah and their son Theodore Lawrence Taylor.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday May 4, 2017 in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home with the rosary following at 7:00 p.m.  Private family services are under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home with private burial at Resurrection Cemetery.
