Laverne Schell, age 68, of Springfield, Missouri, peacefully passed away July 18, 2024, in his home surrounded by family.

Wiley Laverne Schell was born the son of Wiley and Pauline Schell on September 25, 1955. He was united in marriage to Shirley Schell (Keithley) on October 26, 1973, in Springfield, Missouri. They shared 50 years of making memories, traveling, and spending time with family.

Laverne was a hard worker and was always willing to offer a helping hand. In 2017, he retired from AmeriPride Services after 43 years. He then, participated in the inaugural year of the Give 5Program of the United Way, and through that program was connected with Community Partnership of the Ozarks (CPO), where he proudly served as a volunteer for 4 years.

Laverne loved the outdoors and anything with a motor. He was heavily involved with Gold Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA) and spent 10 plus years traveling all over the country with Shirley.

Laverne is preceded in death by his parents Wiley and Pauline Schell, and sister Mary Hopkins; survived by his brother Bob Schell.

He regularly enjoyed time with numerous family and friends, and is survived by his loving wife Shirley Schell, son Darren Schell of Riverside, Missouri; daughter Kristy Paddock of Springfield, Missouri and grandchildren Gabby and Caleb Paddock. He leaves behind cherished memories with Stuart Coutchie, boyfriend of Kristy, and his daughter Hanna. He is also survived by many loved family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Partnership of the Ozarks (CPO).

Visitation will be on Friday, July 26, 2024 from 6:00 - 7:00 PM, followed by a time of sharing memories by friends and family at 7:00 PM.
