LaVerne L. Clute, 81 of Springfield passed away Monday, June 11, 2012 at his home. He was born August 6, 1930 in Oil City, Pennsylvania to LaVerne and Grace Rhines Clute. He graduated from Cranberry High School in Oil City in 1948. He married Beverly Ann Vehmeier in 1951 and graduated from Northwest Bible College in Seattle Washington in 1955. He became an Ordained Minister in the Assemblies of God in 1958 and served as a pastor in Pennsylvania for 41 years. He was a United States Army Veteran. LaVerne is survived by his wife Beverly; three sons Daryl Clute and his wife Becky, Randy Clute and his wife Rebekah and Gary Clute of Ft. Myers, Florida; one daughter Darlene Clute of Freeport, Maine; six grandchildren, Jeremy Clute and his wife Kristin, Jennifer Mann, Ryan Clute, David Clute and his wife Amanda, Tyler Clute and his wife Cassie and Steven Clute; and six great-grandchildren, Joseph Akin, Jacob, Anna, Nikolas and Travis Clute and Kayla Clute. Visitation will be Friday June 15, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday June 16, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rivermonte Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to the Assemblies of God World Missions, 1445 N. Boonville Ave., Springfield, MO 65802.
