Laurie Jean Johnson, 57, Springfield, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2021 in Mercy.  She was born September 3, 1963 in Springfield, the daughter of Rolla and Lucille Bass.

Laurie worked as a custodian at Missouri State University until her retirement.  She was very active with the United Methodist Church in Ozark, MO.  Laurie loved taking walks in the park, shopping at Thrift Stores and traveling.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Leann Clouse; step-mother, Cheryl Bass; step-daughter, Tina Dulle; brother-in-law, Gary Ward; brother-in-law, Ray Melton; brother-in-law, Wayne Johnson; brother-in-law, Carl Johnson; brother-in-law, Clint Johnson; and sister-in-law, Loraine Batson.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry; one son, Cleveland Harris; seven sisters; Nancy Melton, Mary Ward, Donna Klehm (Ken), Jo Lowrey (Steve), Teresa Schoville, Reba Tamayo, Sandy Shipley (Mark); one brother, Jay Bass; step-son, Tim Johnson (Mindy); step-daughters, Tammy Garton (Bill); Terri Miller (Brent); step-son, Ben Dulle; half-brother, Jimmy Bass; step-brother, Jeff Smith; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members.

Private family services will be held in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes Foundation.  Online condolences may be left at gormanscharpf.com.
