Laura Marceline (Marce) Weaver passed away in Springfield, MO on May 16, 2011, at the age of 88. She was born Laura Marceline Fellin, to Alex and Vesta Fellin, in Springfield, MO on May 3, 1923. Marce married Albert A. (Al) Weaver on November 30, 1942. They were married for 65 years before Al's death on June 7, 2008. At the age of thirteen, Marce took on many of the responsibilities of her family household after her mother went blind, and she provided much of the care for her three year old sister, Jackie. Following her marriage to Al, she supported her country during WWII as a "Rosie the Riveter", working in Wichita, KS at an aircraft assembly plant. After the war, she devoted herself to the raising of her daughter, Jo. In later years she served as an invaluable source of help for her daughter, who worked full time to support two young girls as a single parent. Marce's love for her family was unwavering and unconditional. In addition to her husband, Marce was also preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Wanda Gibalski, and two brothers, Ed Fellin, and Joe Fellin -- all of Springfield, MO. She is survived by a sister, Jackie Farrell, of Willard. Marce is also survived by one daughter, Louana Jo (Weaver) Wollard; granddaughter Jenger Wollard of Shrewsbury, MO; granddaughter Jahna Schadt, her husband Andy Schadt, and great-granddaughter Alexa Schadt, of Edwardsville, IL. Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
