Laura Joan Campbell, of Springfield, MO, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at the age of 87 years, 11 months.

She was a member of Ritter Springs Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses for 14 years before her death.  Although Joan could not physically attend services in the last few years due to declining health, she enjoyed attending Bible classes via telephone conference.

Laura was a nurse for over 30 years and enjoyed taking care of people.  She was an avid gardener and had an amazing green thumb.  She had a great love for her family and friends and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents, James K. and Georgia Marie Fountain, her siblings, Irene Lester, Grace Bessler, John Fountain, Sarah Francis Hopper and Ila Marten, and her son-in-law, Gene Sanders.

Laura Joan Campbell is survived by her children, Jenny L Sanders, of Plymouth, Illinois, Thomas P. Campbell, of Springfield, Missouri, Mary E. Halbrook and her husband Joe, of Jefferson City, Missouri, Michael L. Campbell and his wife Ruth, of Strafford, Missouri, Julie A. Vaughan and her husband Robert, of Aurora, Missouri; along with her grandchildren, Shannon Sanders Weaver and her husband Travis, Nikki Sanders Schotten and her husband Steven, Bryan Campbell and his wife Karen, Matthew Campbell and his fiancé Hilary, Joshua Campbell, and his wife Kara.  Also surviving are her great-grandchildren, Chelsea Sanders Hicks and her husband Nathaniel, Brandon Hanks, Ean Campbell, Caleb Campbell, Nora Campbell, Kate Campbell, Allyson Campbell, and Winston Campbell; great-great grandchild, Emma Sanders; and two family additions on the way for 2019—great-grandchild, Theodore Martin Campbell and great-great grandchild, James Wyatt Hicks.

Memorial Services will be held at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2019 in Springfield, MO, with Joe Halbrook officiating.
