Larry D. Shockley Sr., born June 25, 1951 went to be with the Lord on July 18, 2010 after a short illness. Larry was born and raised in Springfield, Missouri. He graduated from Central High School and pursued his career at Zenith and was presently employed by Springfield Public Schools. His favorite past time was being with his grandchildren and family. Larry was a great husband, father, grandfather, son and friend to all. He was preceded in death by his father, Doug Sr.; brothers, Bobby Sr. and Doug Jr. Larry leaves to mourn his loving wife of 41 years, Colleen; his sons, Dennis and Larry Jr.; daughter, Angela Jackson (Ray), Dallas, Texas; mother, Mary Shockley; sisters, Gloria Fewell and Joyce Adams (Milton); brothers, Richard Allen and Joe Jackson; sisters-in-law, Renee' Conn and Sharon Fewell; grandchildren; a special friend JoAnn Gerard; and a host of loving nieces; nephews; and friends. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives have been touched by him. A visitation is scheduled for Friday, July 23, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m., with funeral services being held Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., both services will be held at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 E. Seminole.
