Larry G. Cox, 81, Emeritus at SMU, veteran of the USAF and longtime resident of Springfield and Republic, MO, left this world at 3:57 PM on October 14, 2023.  He was with family when he left and could finally leave the long battle with Parkinson's behind.

He was preceded in death by his brother Bob, wife Carol, and his grandson, Tristn.

His son, Robert, and daughter, Natalie, along with his surviving grandchildren: Rhiannon, Nicole, and Kerrie.  He is survived by his brothers Bill and Darryl and sisters: Cheree, Beth and Kathy.  All of whom he was very close to.

He loved being a grandfather more than we all knew possible.  In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Michael J. Fox foundation for Parkinson's research.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023 from 10:30-11:30 AM, Services beginning at 11:30 AM in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, with the graveside service being at 1:00 PM at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, with Andy Vowell officiating.
