Lance Ellis Kilgore, devoted father, loyal friend, and cherished family member was stolen from us in a senseless act of violence on September 7, 2018 at the age of 35.

Lance was an avid outdoorsman who loved the natural streams and valleys of Missouri and Arkansas. He shared this love with his son in the short time they had together. Lance often took his nephews, Julian and Ashton, floating and couldn't wait until his own son was old enough to be the one at his side. This love of the waterways carried over into Lance's professional life where he worked as a tow boat Captain, pushing barges all over the southern United States.

Lance was preceded in death by his father, Jim Kilgore and his step-father Steve Maddox. He is dearly loved by his purpose in life, his precious son Lucas, age two years. He is also survived by his sister, Lauri, who knew that Lance always had her back, Lauri's husband, Jeremy and their two boys, Julian and Ashton; brothers, John Maddox, his wife, Jessica and their two children, Michael and Addie, Brian Maddox and Christopher Maddox, and a multitude of lifelong friends and family.

Most of all he will be missed by his mother, Brenda Maddox.  Lance was Mom's help and rock after she lost the love of her life in January. Thank you for all the honey-dos and your unconditional love.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 13, 2018 in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home with Father Fergus Monaghan officiating.  Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday in the funeral home.
