Obituary

LaBeth Lou Burch went home to be with her Saviour on October 13, 2013. She was born in Kansas City, Kansas on February 7, 1944, the daughter of Bonar Marcillis and Adeline LaGrande Freeland Cook. She was the youngest of ten children. She graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1962. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Darrell Louis Burch, eight siblings, Bill Cook, Robert Cook, Alan Cook, Ardell Cook, Claudia Duton, Alice Cook, Tressie Ova and Betty Lewis. She is survived by her son, William "Bill" R. Courtney of Springfield; daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy D. and Gordon Crook of Towanda, KS; Amy J. And Tom Daniels of Springfield; one stepdaughter, Dianna M. Hummel of Palmyra, MO; one stepson and daughter-in-law, Darrell E. and Shirley Burch of Liberty, MO and one sister, Wanda Ballou of Coeur'd Alene, ID. She also leaves behind three grandsons, Jonathan Crook, Kyle Lawrence and Seth Crook; and one step-grandson, Jacob Hummel; and two step-granddaughters, Samantha and Sandy Daniels. Also, one great-granddaughter, Trinity May Mohrman. She also leaves behind a cousin, Ruby Steed of Thayer, MO and an aunt, Leida Cook of Salem, AR. LaBeth was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. She was saved at an early age at the Bethel Neighborhood Baptist Church in Kansas City, KS. She fought the cancer with a vengeance since 2008 and her doctors said it was her sense of humor that kept her going. She had a great support group in her family and friends. Her neighbors were inspired by her smile. She had a full life and always faced challenges head on. She was surrounded by her family and close friends at the end. She will be missed. Her body will be cremated at her request. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013, 2:00pm, at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Debbie Isenbletter will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Brentwood Columbarium in the funeral home. She requested no flowers but contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
