Kristine Grace Lanken, 27, Springfield passed away May 18, 2016 at Mercy Hospital. She was born October 27, 1988 at Subic Bay Naval base, Philippines to Ramon Zabat Cortez and Maria Floresa Beltran.  Her father was stationed there at the time with the U.S. Navy.

She was a graduate of Barrington (Illinois) High School. She was married to Samuel Nicholas "Nic" Lanken April 25, 2008. She had worked as and was a beloved bartender and was an avid Photographer and Glassblower. In addition to her husband and her parents Kristine was survived by her brother Andrew who is currently serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. And her in-laws Scott Lanken of Springfield and Catherine Zych of Hallieford, Virgina. A memorial service celebrating the life of Kristine "Kris" Lanken will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday May 22, 2016 at Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel.
