Kristen Hicks, age 62, passed away at home on May 12, 2011. She received her Master's in Fine Arts from the University of Arkansas and was an artist all her life. She was preceded in death by her parents Mildred and Ralph Gilbert. She is survived by her daughter, Hayley Hicks, Fairfax, VA; sisters Susan Carrell and husband Winston Davis, Allenspark, CO and Mary Ann Barton and husband Bruce, Springfield; two nieces, Kelsey Barton and Emily Pickett, and nephew, Matthew Carrell. Graveside services will be Tuesday, May 24th at 1:00 PM at Maple Park Cemetery under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
