IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Klaus
Greinke
March 21, 1948 – May 15, 2017
The uniquely fascinating life of Klaus Greinke came to a premature end on Monday, May 15, 2017 when he was taken from his family and friends following a heart attack. Klaus was born in Stuttgart, Germany on March 21, 1948. Always a very active man, he taught in his Taekwondo studio in Germany until he moved to the Greek Islands to teach wind surfing. It was there that he met and married Ermioni Tsahiridis, his wife of 33 years and with whom he shares two sons, Michael and Alexander, both of Springfield. Family ties brought them to move to Springfield in 1993. Klaus owned and operated an auto body shop in Springfield for 8 years before he and "Emi" opened the popular local restaurant, Galloway Station 14 years ago. Klaus is survived by his wife, Emi, his sons, Michael and Alex, and by a daughter who lives in Germany, Birgit Goetsch, and by his sister, Uschi Haussermann, and brother, Ronald Greinke, and by many relatives and friends who will forever treasure their memories of this colorful and amazing man.
Visitation is planned for Friday, May 19, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home with a memorial service to be held at noon on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at St. Thomas the Apostle Orthodox Church at 4200 S Holiday Ave. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Heart Association in Klaus' memory.
