Kevin Wilken Harpool, 34, Springfield, Missouri, passed away Friday, May 22, 2009, in St. John's Hospital, of kidney failure. He was born May 31, 1974, in Springfield, Missouri, to Gene and Loretta Harpool. Kevin was an avid outdoorsmen and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping at the lake. He was an awesome grill master. Kevin was a professional fisherman and fished with the Central Pro Am and Heartland Pro Am Tournaments. Kevin also enjoyed fishing buddy tournaments with his friends. Kevin was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Harold and Edna Wilken, and Guy and Nell Harpool; an aunt, Deloris Smith; and two uncles, Bob Walker, and Bob Harpool. He is survived by his mother, Loretta "Lori" Harpool; a step-father, Dave Westlin of Nixa, Mo.; a sister, Julie Dodds and husband, Brian of Springfield, Mo.; aunts and uncles, Ruby and Gary Reynolds, Carolyn Walker, Virginia Harpool, John Smith and Roberta Leach; a step-sister, Laurie Jones and husband, Richard; a step-brother, Jeff Westlin and wife, Sharra; close family friend Dean Cunningham M.D.; and many other friends and family. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2009, in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to KAST "Kids Are Special Too" 4500 N.
