Kenneth Marcher, 91, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away at 3:10PM, Thursday, January 31, 2013, at Mercy Villa Long Term Care facility. Kenneth was born in Makoti, ND on January 26, 1922. In approximately 1936 his family relocated to Centerville, Missouri where he attended High School. August 3, 1940, he enlisted in the Army and served in the South Pacific until the end of WWII. He was discharged November 29, 1945. Kenneth had a distinguished career as a civilian employee for the Department of Defense. He was Chief of Security for the Mobility Equipment Command in St. Louis and retired to Springfield in 1973. He was preceded in death by his wife Frances Marcher and daughter Kathryn Pantoga. He is survived by his son, George Marcher and his daughter, Deborah Pidgeon. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 5, 2013 6:00-7:00PM at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home in Springfield. Funeral Services will be held at St. James Episcopal Church in Springfield at 10:30AM Wednesday February 6, 2013.
