Kenneth Lee Was born November 1, 1921 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island and died February 3, 2013 in the Missouri Veteran's Home at Mt. Vernon. He served his country during WWII, September 1942 - February 1946 in the European Theatre in England with the 8th Air Force. After hostilities, he performed with the Air Force Variety Choir entertaining troops in Germany. Kenneth graduated from Drury College in 1956 with a B.A. in Business and was employed as an account manager and office manager with Masters-Jackson and Bus Andrews. His true love was sharing his beautiful voice as a soloist at South Street Christian Church for 27 years and in other churches in the area. Ken was active in Springfield Little Theatre 1955 - 1976 with the highlight playing Tyeve in "Fiddler on the Roof" in 1976. After retirement he enjoyed adding to his extensive LP collection and volunteering with the Convention and Visitors Bureau 1989 - 2009. Kenneth is survived by his wife of 46 years, Peggy, his son Larry ,two daughters Patty an Cyndi, five grandchildren, Kashi, Sarah, Jennifer and their spouses, Laura and Leslie, and two great grandchildren, Greyson and Josephine. He was immensely proud and delighted by them and their accomplishments. Memorial Service will be Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 11:00am in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel with visitation following the service. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Missouri Veteran's Home Bus Fund, 1600 S. Hickory, Mt. Vernon, Missouri 65712.
