Kenneth Freeman Brown passed away peacefully in his home on March 18, 2014. Ken served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy from 1961 through 1981 with several tours of duty in Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Gettinger) Brown; a daughter, Tamara Herron and husband, Nicholas; grandchildren, Dominic and Mila of Arizona; step-children, Larry Patterson, Jr., Catherine Danielle Patterson and Patrick Patterson, all of Springfield. Ken is also survived by a brother, Kermit Brown and wife, Raelene and their daughters, Jackie and Heather and their families. He is also survived by a step-sister, Bobbie Martin of Nebraska and several other step-brothers and sister. Graveside services under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home will be on Friday, March 28, 2014 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Online condolences may be made at www.gormanscharpf.com.
