Dr. Keith Mason Williams passed away of natural causes Monday, July 13, 2015 in his home. Keith was born April 1, 1957 in Springfield, MO to David James and Shirley Jean (Johnson) Williams. He was a graduate of Greenwood High School and Southern Methodist University. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He served his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Missouri - Columbia and studied Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Keith returned to Springfield and became a respected member of the Springfield medical community retiring from practice in 2009. In his youth, Keith enjoyed outdoor activities with friends and family. He was involved in Boy Scouts achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. He was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity at SMU. Keith had an interest in genealogy and traveled to many states doing research on family history. Keith is survived by his children, Amy Kathleen (Williams) Biddle, her husband Ryan and daughter Madison of Olathe, KS; Douglas Mason Williams of Kansas City, MO; one brother, David Randall Williams, Fairport, NY: two sisters, Carol (Williams) Whitaker, Edmond, OK and Ellen (Williams) Wilson, Springfield, MO; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 10:00am followed by funeral services at 11:00am in the funeral home. Interment will be in Hazelwood Cemetery immediately after.
