Keith Nelson "Skeeter" Parnell died March 28, 2014 in Republic, Missouri. He was the devoted son of Nelson and Betty Parnell, who preceded him in death. He was the beloved father of Christopher Parnell (Brittney), Jennifer Parnell, Sara Parnell (Mark), Nikki Edwards, Amanda McAlaster (Dave) and Michael Edwards; the loving grandfather of Kelci Parnell, Eli Tinsley, Jesse Tinsley, Alexas Tinsley, Brooklynn Roberts, Kaleea, Stormi and Freya Bollinger, Dakota and Zola Edwards, Daemon and Malachi McAlaster, Amara Edwards, Cameron Manley, Elijah Baker and Cole Reyes. He was anticipating the birth of his first great-grandchild, Ezmeah. He is also survived by brother, Kevin Parnell (Joanna); sisters, Kathleen Parnell (Danny) and Karolyn Farley (Tim); and many loving nieces, nephews and a host of friends and acquaintances. Also surviving him is his fiancé, Kim Latham, with whom he shared love and life. Keith was a graduate of Central High School and OTC. Because of his love for children, he coached in the Boys and Girls Club basketball league for many years and was named Coach of the Year. He was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinal fan and loved fishing and gardening but his greatest legacy is the love and devotion he shared with family and friends. Visitation will be on the 2nd day of April, 2014 from 5:30pm to 6:30pm followed by a memorial service at 6:30pm with the Reverend Edward Barnett officiating at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Springfield.
