IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Keith
Brooks
January 16, 1964 – September 25, 2021
Gerald Keith Brooks, known as Keith Brooks to many, entered Eternal Life on Sept. 25, 2021 in Springfield MO, at age 57. He was born on January 16, 1964, in St Louis MO to Constance Beverly Fulton. Springfield was his life-long home, after his adoption by loving Maternal relatives, Gerald Alvin Brooks and Velma Brooks. His foundation in Faith was formed at the Benton Ave A.M.E. Church, where his parents were active members. He graduated from Central High School in 1981, and went on to study Mass Communications at Missouri State University. In all parts and times and places in his life, music was his greatest passion. His experiences with music alongside sharing his love of music with others, was unquestionably his talent in life.
In 1992, he welcomed his first born child, Trinity Brooks, into the world. From that day forward, he knew of the love felt by a father's heart. He was wed to Ann Suel on September 25, 1999, at St Joseph Catholic Church, Springfield MO. They were blessed with 2 sons, Jonathan and Dominic, who each in their own way brought so much joy and happiness and laughter to his life. At his time of death, at the heart and center of his family, was his birth mother, Bev, along with the powerful love never faded after the passing of Gerald and Velma. His faith in God was lifelong, and he found great calm and comfort in his adult life as a member of the Roman Catholic Church, first as a part of St Joseph's, then at St. Agnes Cathedral Church.
Keith is survived by his wife Ann, their sons Jon and Dominic, his daughter Trinity, and his mother Constance Fulton. Also surviving is a beautiful circle of extended family, to include Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins, all of whom he loved fiercely. His in-laws joined that circle and have treasured him as family from the moment they met him. Keith's dear friends join his family in the heartbreak of saying goodbye to an absolute treasure of a human being, May God rest his soul.
Services will be held at St Joseph's Catholic Church, 1115 N Campbell, beginning with a Vigil Prayer Service and hour of quiet visitation at 10am. Funeral Mass will be said by Officiant Fr. Lewis Henja at 11am. Following Mass, all are welcome to join the family for Luncheon at the Parish Hall at St. Joe's. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the American Diabetes Association, or to the charity of your choosing.
