Kathryn L. Wells, 55, passed away on October 16, 2010 from injuries suffered in a tragic automobile accident. She was born January 11, 1955 in Rocky Ford, Colorado, to Lonnie and Hazel Wells. Her love of nature and music sustained her spirit. Kathryn was a well known and respected nurse for St. John's Hospital Hospice Care. She worked with many patients and their families in the area. Her kind and caring ways made her a God-Send to the patient and family. Kathryn worked in the health care field for more than 30 years. Kathryn is survived by her parents, Lonnie and Hazel Wells, Rocky Comfort, MO; a sister and her husband, LaDonna and James Johnson, Monett, MO; a brother and his wife, Jess and Karen Wells, Exeter, MO; and a brother and his wife, Glen and Margie Wells, Bentonville, AR.; as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, aunts and uncles. In addition, she will be greatly missed by many friends and co-workers. A "Celebration of Life" will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, Springfield. Private burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Kathryn's Memory to St. John's Hospice or a charity of your choice.
