Kathryn Elizabeth (Maschmann) VerSteeg passed away February 27th, 2021 after nearly a three-year vigilant fight. Born to Frank and Katie (Cox) Maschmann on August 13, 1944, Kathy was the first of seven kids. Mike (Mary), Linda, Kenny (Carol), Bud (Pam), Jerry, and Bob (Marsha) soon followed. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jerry, and her brother Bob. On August 17, 1962 she married her sweetheart, Clark VerSteeg, and they started a family of their own. Two daughters, Cindi (Larry) and Toni (Stephen) filled their lives with love. The two girls grew up to give them four grandchildren, Nicki (Mickie), Jamie, CJ (Jen), and Brandon.

The entire world revolved around her family, and she loved them fiercely. If you were blessed to know her well, you were also considered part of it. More than a few from that extended list even called her Ma/Grandma, too.

From her bowling days, peach slushes while wallpapering, camping & bonfires, to a longtime devotion of the Kansas City Chiefs & Royals, and St. Louis Cardinals, she lived life to the fullest. To say that she'll be missed is the understatement of a lifetime. There will be a Kathy shaped hole in so many hearts, but we know she wants us to fill it with wonderful memories and happy thoughts. And one day, we will. Until then we will take comfort knowing she's home and no longer in pain.

Memorial service will be held Friday, March 5, 2021 in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel at 10:00 AM.
