Kathryn Virginia Scheidegger, 89, of Springfield, passed away at 6:56 AM on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at her home. She raised 4 boys as a single mother from the 1950s until 1970 on her salary as a checker in a grocery store. Later she held various jobs, ranging from selling cemetery plots and crypts to managing a storage facility. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Springfield.

She was preceded in her death by her husband, Ervin J. Scheidegger; parents, Louis D. Woolsey and Lucille (Hayes) Woolsey; brother, Robert Woolsey and his wife Doris; sister, Teresa (Woolsey) Stalcup and her husband James.

She is survived by her 4 sons; Daniel R. Dalton and wife Mary of Ozark, MO, Randal L. Dalton and wife Tina of Greenfield, MO, Calvin A. Dalton and wife Cheryl of Springfield, MO, and Lance A. Dalton of Yellville, AR; 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, March 29, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, with Father Fergus Monaghan celebrating. Burial will be at a later date in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice Compassus of Springfield.
