Kathryn Mary (Lee) Hailey, age 85 of Springfield, Missouri passed away at 11:35 a.m. on Thursday, August 4, 2022 in Springfield, Missouri. She was born the daughter of Clyde Mitchell Lee and Eva Charlotte (Hamilton) Lee on March 4, 1937 in Neosho, Missouri. She was a longtime resident of Republic, Missouri and member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She loved and followed Jesus throughout her life, serving in her local church as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, and in children's, women's and benevolence ministries. As a mother, she was always involved with her children and grandchildren's interests whether it be ballgames, band, choir, cheerleading, PTA, walks through the snow, summers at the swimming pool, playing in the creek or float trips on the Ozarks rivers. She was known for her great personality, sense of humor and taking an interest in people. She had the ability to make friends wherever she went and loved to mother the younger men and women around her. She loved family gatherings, people, music, reading, traveling, painting and the beauty of God's creation… especially the Ozarks.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Eugene Hailey I; son, Richard Eugene (Dickie) Hailey II; parents, Clyde & Eva Lee; father & mother-in-law, Paul & Opal Hailey; and brothers-in-law, Charles Hailey, JR Marney and Lee Audirsch.
She is survived by daughter Jane Noël Perkin & husband Mark, son Jonathan Lee Hailey & wife Keri Dawn, and daughter-in-law Pam Hailey, all of Springfield, MO. Grandchildren Jennifer Hailey, Laura Hailey, Ryan Hailey, Andrew Perkin, Gannon Hailey, Nadia Hailey, and Jessica Schroeder. Great grandchildren Jazlyn, Abigail, Lillian, Addison, Kortney, Audri & Aryss. And a great, great granddaughter, Marcy. Sister-in-laws Linda Marney, Bonnie Hailey & Paula Audirsch along with many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and dear, dear friends.
Services will be held on Monday, August 8, 2022 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. John Marshall officiating under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Burial will be in Republic, Missouri at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday prior to the service at the funeral home.
