Kathleen M. Jeffries passed away on March 18, 2024, at Jacob's Ladder in Springfield, Missouri. She was the cherished wife of James H. Jeffries and the beloved mother of Andrew Jeffries and Anna Jeffries. She is survived by her parents, Jim and Judy Hawkins, her sister Christine Martin, brother Dan Hawkins, nieces Jessica Martin and Kacie Perkins, nephew Nick Martin, and their spouses and children. She was preceded in death by her brother Andrew Hawkins.

Katie was a nurse throughout her adult life and had a heart made by God to care for the premature babies in the neonatal intensive care unit at St. Mary's Hospital in St. Louis and at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. After leaving the NICU setting she continued to provide health care with a side of humor in public health nursing and occupational nursing jobs, and as a volunteer at summer camps. She loved to work in her flower beds on a hot summer day in her swimsuit and overalls, and then to jump in the pool to cool off. Her children were blessed with her constant love and care. There are no words to express how much we miss her.

A visitation for friends and family will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 1p.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Child Advocacy Center( https://childadvocacycenter.org/ ) which has a mission that is dear to Katie's heart.
