Kate Caroline Kumar, 40, Springfield, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 in her home. She was born July 2, 1986 in Lewiston, Maine, the daughter of Francis Jaya Kumar Chigurupati and Caroline Camire.

Visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Friday, October 30, 2026 in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home with a memorial service beginning at 3:00 p.m.  Kate will be laid to rest next to Stephen at Maple Park Cemetery, in a private family service.  Memorial contributions may be made in Kate's name to Rescue One, 2000 South Stewart Avenue, Springfield, MO 65804 or by clicking here.
