Karsten Arnold "Brad" Bredesen Jr, 89, of Springfield, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Cox South Hospital. Brad was born on September 1, 1925 to Karsten Sr. and Julia Bredesen. Brad graduated with a degree in math from Drury University and a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri Rolla. He worked for MoDot as a Civil Engineer for 36 years. He was a proud member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where he served as a Deacon, Elder, and sang in the Church Choir for 56 years. Brad enjoyed fishing, camping, and growing roses in his free time. Brad is survived by his wife of 55 years, Helen, and one son, Karsten E. Bredesen. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 11, at 10 am at Westminster Presbyterian Church, with a reception following the service. Interment will be in Maple Park Cemetery at a later date.
