Karen Gende passed from this earth into her Savior's presence peacefully on January 13, 2025, following complications related to long-term health conditions.  She was born December 3, 1955, in LaSalle, Illinois.  She resided for her youth and career in Lockport, Illinois.  After retirement, she moved to Springfield, Missouri to assist in caring for her mother and father, which she faithfully did until her mother's passing in 2023.

Karen graduated from Lockport Township High School, Lockport, Illinois and Lewis University, Romeoville, Illinois. She had a distinguished professional career in the telecommunications industry, ultimately retiring from Avaya Communications as a National Service Manager, where she was a trendsetter for women in the workplace.

Karen was predeceased by her mother and father, Juanita and Victor Gende. She is survived by her brothers, Steven Gende, Michael Gende, and Mark Gende. She is also survived by nieces, a nephew, two grandnephews, aunts, an uncle, and cousins.

According to Karen's wishes, there will not be a funeral service.  She will be interred in the Hazelwood Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri.
