Karen Garmon, 59, Springfield, passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018 in Cox South.  She was born May 30, 1959 in Austin, Minnesota to Ivan and Bettie Mae (Wehr) Garmon.

She was a journalist of 40+ years, working for KOLR for 22 years.  Prior to that, she was a reporter and anchor for KTTS Radio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sharon Hannigan.

Karen is survived by three sons, Dan Libby, Durango, CO; Chris Libby, Blue Springs, MO; and Andrew Wadlington, U.S. Air Force; a nephew, Josh Hannigan, Nixa, MO; grandson, Leland Libby, Durango, CO; several cousins in Springfield and Arizona; and many friends found over many years in the Ozarks.

Memorial visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m.  to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2018 in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Harmony House, 3404 East Ridgeview Street, Springfield, MO 65804.
