Karen Hall Cooper, 73 years old of Rogersville, MO and longtime resident of Houston, TX, passed away on June 29,2025. She was born on March 22, 1952 in Louisville, Kentucky. She is the daughter of Carol Jane and David W.Hall, M.D.
Karen graduated from Glendale High School, Springfield, MO in 1970. She was a cheerleader and a member of Kingsway United Methodist Church. Karen received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Christian University in 1974. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority.
Karen dedicated her life to caring for others through her long and impactful career as a Registered Nurse. Her professional career in Texas spanned 46 years which included practice in Emergency Room, Cardiac Critical Care, Medical Intensive Care, Medical Encoding Consultation, and Mental Health.
Karen enjoyed traveling and capturing family moments through photography. She and her husband Wayne Cooper traveled abroad from the fall of the Berlin Wall, to climbing the Great Wall of China to scuba diving the Great Barrier Reef. Karen also loved her family vacation home at Lake of the Ozarks.
KK found great joy in spending time with her family, especially all of her nieces and nephews. She loved photography, fishing, being at the lake, and never missed a soccer game or ballet. Her generous heart and steadfast devotion to her loved ones has left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Carol Jane and David W. Hall, M.D.
KK is survived by her partner for life, Wayne Cooper of Fort Worth, TX; her sister, Debra Oden of Rogersville, MO; niece, Amy Lyons, husband Matt, and family Tyler Fischer and Nora of Rogersville, MO; niece, Lisa Alford, husband Darrel of Anchorage, AK; brother, David Hall, wife Linda, of Rogersville, MO; nephew Andrew Franklin-Hall, wife Laura, and family Jonah, Selah and Asher of Toronto, Canada; nephew, Wade Hall of Springfield, MO.
A private visitation will be held at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery at 2 p.m.,Wednesday, July 2, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Breakthrough T1D, (breakthrough1d.org) a nonprofit organization focused on the cure, prevention, and treatment of type 1 diabetes and its complications.
